You're as pretty as a princess!

OOOOO so true, so from pirates last weekend to princesses this weekend, Zoie has had some fun dress up parties to attend. We received a couple pictures from last weeks pirate birthday party today in the mail. How cute! Zoie said she was saying like arrrgh when they took the picture so her mouth looks funny but it is such cute pictures. The birthday girls mom really decked out the place in the pirate theme too, very cleverly done. When you party plan do you go all out with your decor etc...? She mentioned she scopes Goodwill out to see if she can find things that will work with the theme. I just might have to keep that in mind. Another friend of mine loves doing the Goodwill thing too, I find that the smells in those stores can overwhelm me most times so I find it hard to go in them but man have my friends shown me they get some great decor items from doing exactly this. I wish I was a shopper. hehehe Seriously I wish I could force myself to learn the art of bargain shopping, well not so much just bargains but thrifty shopping.
Here is Zoie's BFF's princess creations I came up with. I have to admit I really like the purse in that cartridge. So cute and very easy to put together. I had fun mixing pieces and putting the princess look together. I used my gypsy so I didn't have the face cut and used one my Peachy Keen sets I have for her precious little face. My sentiment is two from MPS's line of stamps that I decided to use together. I liked how it looked once I was done stamping too, man I love see through stamps (aka acrylic stamps) they just make creating that much easier when you can get things lined up just right!
You know I find that when I'm working on a project for someone it makes me so happy to create something that is unique to them or that I think will fit for their likes. When you create do you take your subjects in mind or do you create so much that often times you are creating to have stock rather than an item for someone specifically?
Oh goodness me I have yak'd on far more than I had intended tonight. Must be my need for sleep, I can hardly focus on the typing. Thanks for stopping by to see my cootie (cricut) creations, I would love to hear from you in comments. I enjoy looing around at blogs and others creations so please let me know your blog so I can scope it out. Thanks.

AAAArgh!

That is pirate for alright! Zoie was invited to a pirate party so I decided to make a card.

<--Here is a close up

Here is full card shot -->

...this card was for a friend in who was in her kinder class but is in the opposite class this year. Zoie said the hair was her favorite part. :) Love it when the kids approve. It looked like a super cute party. They came dressed like pirates, made pirate hats, went on a treasure hunt with a treasure map and went home with a treasure chest full of fun pirate goodies. They did a great job with the party.

<--And inside

Next up is going to be a princess motif and bracelet for her BFF. She is going to be Rapunzel for Halloween so this will give her another reason to wear her costume.

Odds and Ends

Hi everyone I have been super busy around home with end of school, volunteering to be the new PTO President for our upcoming school year, last minute family (my cousin and her five daughters) visiting on and off for a couple weeks, small cancer scare and well dealing with issues that are causing me to have a hysterectomy on the 28th of this month. OY I have to go tomorrow for my pre-op hospital visit, blood work, ekg etc... I am super nervous and yet excited to be done with this mess.

I saw that Robyn over at My Pink Stamper has a design team call out see Quote from her site with link to her site:

Design Team Call! My Pink Designers August - January Term!

Hello Everyone!!

If you haven't already heard the news, I have openings for my upcoming 2011 2 Term My Pink Stamper Design Team! All you need to do is add a project for this challenge by next Wednesday, July 20 11:59 pm CST. I will be choosing a handful of you to serve 6 months on my upcoming team! Here are some of the requirements....

I am going to enter so I wanted to be sure and post this up first. :) Stay tuned for my entry I will add it to this post. Good luck to all that apply.

I'm back... Okay here is my entry. :) I have a couple of birthday's that will happen the weekend after my hysterectomy so this is one of the cards I made for my cousin's little monkey.

Recipe:
Card
6 x 3.5 Green
5.75 x 3 3/8 Orange
5.5 x 3.25 Turquoise

Monkey
Cricut Cartridge - Create A Critter (through my Gypsy)
Layers: Bottom - Turquoise; Center - marbled Tan; Top - Brown; Vine - Green
Stickles - Orange
Martha Stewart Brown Flocking Powder
Notes: Using my Gypsy I decided to make a Monkey it went with my cousin's invite which he a monkey face on it :) My monkey is bottom layer turquoise, middle layer tan (extra color) top layer in brown. My brown layer I used my Xyron to put adhesive on both sides attached it to my bottom layers and then used Martha Stewart brown flocking powder on it to make it fuzzy. I used Orange Stickles on the eyes. I used Green for the vine which was one of the monkey's accessories on CAC cart.

Using a tag punch I made the larger tag with the DCWV Animal Cracker paper and medium one in Orange. Stamped on MPS's Simply Sweet Occasions Birthday Fun for my sentiment which I stamped in Brown and embossed with kaleidoscope powder. I attached it to the card using a lighter turquoise shade of ribbon that was sort of ribbed. It was merely a remnant piece I had which I thought looked good. I used my Zots glue dots to adhere it under the monkey's hand and under the tag on the card to keep it in place.

Inside Card:
DCWV Animal Crackers 5.75 x 3 3/8
Brown 3.5 x 3.25
Green 3 x 3

Notes - I chose the DCWV Animal Crackers because of the cute blue circle with the monkey in it and similar phrase that was on the Monkey invite.

Okay so now you know what I did and why. I hope you like it. Comments are always welcome and encouraged. Thanks for stopping by.

HUGS, Shannon
